Step3) In the IMAP Access section, click on the radio button for Enable IMAP
Step4) After this, click the Save changes button at the bottom of screen and then log-out from the Google Mail account.
Step1) Open Outlook 2013 and in the File menu
Step2) Select Add Account option.
Step3) An Add Account wizard will pop up on screen. Enable the radio button for E-mail Account and fill in the required credentials.
Your Name: Enter your full name here
Email Address: Enter address that is used to login Gmail account
Password: Enter the password used to login Gmail profile
Retype Password: Confirm the password typed above
Once the needed details are provided, click on Next button to continue
Step4) Configuration set up between Outlook and Gmail will get started automatically. However, note that this process might not work every time.
Step5) If in case automatic configuration fails, choose the second option on Add Account Wizard which is Manual Setup or Additional Server Type. Click Next to move further.
Step6) A screen name Chose Services will appear. Define if you want to connect with POP3 or IMAP email account.
If POP3 is selected, the emails will be directly downloaded from Server (This will be suitable if Gmail data has to be downloaded only on one machine installed with Outlook). In case Outlook is configured on different machines with same mail account, use the IMAP account as copy of email will be downloaded from Server in this case.
Step7) In the POP and IMAP Account Settings window, fill up the fields:
Incoming Mail Server: imap.googlemail.com (or pop.googlemail.com)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.googlemail.com
In the Log-on information section, enter complete username and password for Gmail.
Step8) Now, click on More Settings tab. A dialog box named ‘Internet E-mail Settings’ will pop up on screen. Click on ‘Outgoing Server’ tab and Enable the option ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’ and chose ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’.
Step9) Now click on the Advanced tab and fill up the details that are being highlighted in following image:
Make it a point that encryption connection type is selected first and then port numbers for incoming and outgoing Server are entered. If vice versa is done, the port number will be revered to 25.
Step10) Click OK to make changes and hit the Nextbutton to start up Outlook 2013 configuration with Gmail account.
Step11) Now, Outlook will login to the mail Server and will send a test mail to the account. When testing is done, click on Close button.
Step12) On completion of the process, A window with a message You’re all set! will pop up on screen. Click Finish.
